FY 2016NDAA - Plutonium Pits Report

4/29/15 This Garamendi amendment requires the Administrator for Nuclear Security to submit a report on the rationale of expanding plutonium pit production from 5-10 pits a year to 50-80. Plutonium pits are a critical but costly component of most modern nuclear weapons, and it’s unclear to the Congressman why this program needs to be expanded ten fold.
